Update 1/27/19: Funny thing is about two days after I filmed this, a tornado touched down on Tuesday, January 8th at around 10:27 am EST in the Cortland area of Trumbull County. The sirens were not sounded until 10:30 am, by that time the EF-1 tornado had turned into a waterspout and was moving across Mosquito Lake, after crossing the lake the tornado dissipated a short while later.
Wasn't expecting this to fail. This T-121 was installed in August 2018 atop the Vienna Fire Dept. by Werden Electric. This siren failed to sound even though all the other 20 or so ASC T-128's in Trumbull County did (which were also installed by Werden back in 2005 and in 2013). This siren replaced a Sentry 3V8 in August 2018 which had been non-functional since 2014 and was also roof-mounted. I hope that this siren is fixed soon so that hopefully I can come record it working. I think it might've had radio problems, although all the other T-128's in the county have ASC radios, and this one does too (the radio and controls are located inside the fire station).
However, I did get a really creepy ambience! It was really creepy to hear in person. You can hear several T-128's, very faintly what sounds like a 2001 likely several miles away (possibly from Warren), and another 2001 or a Model 5 in attack (which is odd since all the other sirens in the county do alert). Sorry about the wind noise and the cars; I increased the volume while editing the video so that you can hear the ambience better.
Trumbull County tests their sirens on the First Saturday of every month at 12 PM for 3 minutes. Enjoy!
