The year of 2020 has been difficult for so many. With COVID-19 challenging our lives, this Christmas we, again are presented with the question, "What are we going to do about Christmas?" For many, it continues to be a matter of living one day at a time. "Brethren Voices" encourages an Alternative Christmas Gift to one of the following:
Brethren Disaster Ministries
Brethren Disaster Ministries' Rebuild Program engages volunteers to repair and rebuild storm-damaged homes for some of the most vulnerable disaster survivors, thereby easing trauma and promoting recovery. By putting their faith into action as they restore damaged homes, volunteers also restore broken lives.
New Community Project - Give A Girl A Chance
Girls of the southern African country of Malawi are being provided bikes to get to high school, which is 7 miles from home. Education is often not a high priority for girls. For girls, not being able to go to school often leads to sex trafficking or early marriage. For many girls, NCP has been able to provide $110 for a bike and tuition.
Heifer International
Giving an animal is like giving someone a small business, providing wool, milk, eggs and more. Animal donations can provide families a hand-up, increasing access to medicine, school, food and a sustainable livelihood.
