Running between Los Angeles and San Diego, the Surfline route is known for its scenic views and close ocean running portions. One of these famous locations, is Del Mar. The Del Mar Bluffs have been in the spotlight over the past few years, due to their ever increasing erosion issues and landslides that have been occurring. Plans are underway to study moving the tracks off the bluffs, with one of the top contenders being a tunnel under the city of Del Mar. Time will tell what will happen! In the meantime, crews are busy drilling pilings deep underground to stabilize the bluffs.
In this video, we'll see various Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, Coaster Commuter Trains, and BNSF Freight Trains passing through the scenic Del Mar Bluffs, and Torrey Pines areas.
