"Stay Up! (Viagra)(feat. Kanye West)" by 88-Keys

How did 88 Keys get Kanye West to do a feature? Well I guess this was something that was humanly possible 12 years ago. People who say “I want the old Kanye” can quit their nagging for a moment, as this track is undoubtedly old Kanye. I personally think the man hasn’t changed at all artistically and he is just trying to make all of his albums sound progressive sonically, but what do I know. I won’t get into the politics either, because who actually knows what Kanye truly thinks. What I will say is that he is one of my favorite artists ever. I love his new shit and his old shit, so no complaints from me.
Not really sure what I can say about Kanye West here that isn’t known. I do have a few opinions about him though. I think he is one of the best producer rappers of all-time, despite the fact that he has people aid him on both production and lyrics. I also think the amount of ghostwriting that he uses is minimal, because his lyrics really aren’t like anyone else’s. If you pay close attention, his lyrics range from hilarious one-liners, to profound expressions. I think his greatest asset is the energy he brings to the mic. The only other rapper who can get me as turnt as Kanye does consistently is A$AP Rocky.
“Stay Up! (Viagra)" is a somewhat obscured Kanye loosie that I’ve never stopped listening to. The only way I could describe this beat is bouncy, as the drums seem to be playing hopscotch. I know this explanation makes no sense, but maybe you’ll hear it too. Also, the vocal sample with the sultry voice is sweet. Kanye is at his playful best here (also note the Kim K reference/foreshadowing, something you’ve heard on tracks such as “I’m In It” from Yeezus and “Drunk and Hot Girls” (my FAVORITE Yeezy track) from Graduation. The music video on YouTube is hilarious and the best way to hear this, so head to YouTube if you like what you hear.
