In September 1965, during the escalating Indo-Pakistan War, intense fighting unfolded as Indian forces advanced toward Lahore and Sialkot, while Pakistani forces reported capturing the Indian stronghold of Jourian. At the same time, UN Secretary-General U Thant was in London where he stopped off en route to attend urgent peace talks in Rawalpindi and New Delhi. His mission was part of the United Nations' efforts to negotiate a ceasefire and bring both nations to the table for dialogue. The stopover in London drew public attention, as demonstrators from the Liberate Kashmir movement gathered to protest. ITN cameraman Cyril Page followed the progress in Kashmir as Peter Snow reported from the UK.
