Breaking habits in photography is the only way to advance. Of late, I've been feeling that my macro photography is stagnating. I have my 'go-to' setting that I always use, and recently I've felt like the drive has gone for me to get enthused to head out and shoot.

So I took a look at the way I shot and thought, "OK, it's time to change." I need to challenge myself and do something different. I've now adopted a way to shoot macro photography that will help elongate my flash units by using lower power.

It's always been seen as a 'taboo' aspect in photography to shoot with higher ISO settings, but why? With the advent of some very powerful denoise programs and plug-ins, is it really that much of an issue when shooting up to ISO1600 for macro photography? I tried it out, and you should too. This trip will show you the results of one such recent shoot.
