Think of AI as an ambitious intern—it can make video production easier, but it still needs supervision and shouldn't make major decisions.
AI excels at tasks like research, analyzing trends, and suggesting content that aligns with audience interests.
It’s also great for transcriptions, quickly converting speech to text for scripts or captions.
However, AI lacks the intuition and artistry of human directors and can’t create unique ideas or understand emotional nuances, so we wouldn’t trust it to write a script or craft a compelling story. It also requires double-checking. We’ve seen it write “decrees” instead of “DREs” and “they are styes” instead of “the archdiocese.”
AI can assist with editing by quickly trimming footage, fixing color, and enhancing sound. It can even generate special effects or remove backgrounds. But it struggles with tone, context, and human interaction—areas where a director's input is irreplaceable. It also can’t handle interpersonal dynamics or manage revisions.
So while AI is a valuable tool, it can't replace the creativity and judgment that human producers bring to video production.
