Hiring a video company, then managing a video for your Catholic org may seem complex from the outside. But you can actually expect a simple, three-step process.

The first stage is preproduction. This is all the planning work leading up to the shoot. The video company will need you the most during this stage so there will be at least one meeting and lots of ongoing communication. You’ll define the goal and brainstorm the content of the video. You’ll also be coordinating schedules for everyone who will be in the video. That is, hands down, the most difficult part of any video project.

The second stage is Production. This is the video shoot itself. Here is where the video company takes over and the pressure is off of you. They’ll provide a schedule and plan for the day of the shoot, then gather the footage while you sit back and watch.

The final stage is post production or editing. The video pros will take everything they captured and craft it into a story that meets your goals. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. They’ll be in touch when the edit is drafted. You’ll have the chance to review it and request changes.

Then, presto! Your video will be complete. The company will likely send you a digital copy that you can post to your heart’s content.
