...This week's #toptipsontuesdays is a tip for a tinder bundle in wet conditions other than making feather sticks. I learned this first from @nwprimate & it is basically just the outer bark from western red cedar fluffed up but redwood bark works exactly the same & I'm sure there are other trees with similar bark that could be used this way.

...The very outer bark will probably be wet but if you pull a chunk off the material underneath will be dry & can be scraped into fine tinder that can be blown to flame.  It can take a bit to get sustainable flames but it burns very hot & with some secondary tinder ready you'll be able to get a fire going.
