...It's #firerollfriday again guys !

...This week's candidate was a woody shrub in the pea family called River hemp (Sesbania speciosa).
.
...The fibres are in the inner bark & were relatively easy to scrape out & were exceptionally strong & would also be ideal for cordage.
.
...With strong fibres like this it takes quite a lot of downwards pressure to roll & when I did see it smoking I had to really root the ember out.  Sometimes you can get ignition with these tough fibres but if you don't tear open the roll quick enough, to let oxygen in, they can go out..
.
...Anyway that's another one to add to the suitable materials list.
