A little glimpse of action from the West Somerset Railway spring steam gala featuring guest locos and the WSR homefleet. The gala was marred by plenty of lineside fires due to the ongoing dry spell, these were mainly minor though there was few which caused sections of the railway to be temporarily shut while the fire brigade dealt with the area in question. The first day on Friday had delays of up to 80 minutes with Saturday being the best day for timekeeping with minimal delays. Day three on Sunday went well until the early evening with another fire causing a hefty delay. Regardless of the delays the event was very successful and enjoyable which we sampled from the train and at the lineside.
Due to some of the delays and cancellations of some services the video duration is on the low side so apologies about that. Unfortunately we didn't get to capture a few of the locos notably 72 Fenchurch. The main stars were 45596 Bahamas, yes again ! Great Western 28XX 2807, GWR 2999 Lady Of Legend, L&Y saddle tank 11456 followed by residents 7812 Erlestoke Manor, GWR 6695 and WSR mogul 9351.
