45596 Bahamas puts on a superb display on the Atlantic Coast Express as the double chimney Jubilee forged up the five mile 1/80 gradient of Honiton Bank with a minimum of 29mph with 10 coaches on the hook and no diesel ! Two angles capture the action at Wilmington and the Tunnel mouth near the summit.
The highlight of the return leg would be the 1/70 climb to Upton Scudamore where Bahamas thunders its way to the summit with a mimimum of 26mph, this was all achieved with a slow passage through Westbury which is less than ideal. With the late evening sunshine and light winds the stage was set for an audible and visual feast and that is what we got, superb stuff !
Inbetween the main action we also captured the tour on the outskirts of Exeter at Stoke Cannon and Rewe where the loco is seen getting into its stride having just began its return journey.
