I traveled to Anaheim to speak at Podcast Movement 2017. This is the vlog and this is the Kit I used to film it kit.co/rayortega/sony-a6500-vlogging.
I hosted a panel on podcast RSS feeds along with Daniel J. Lewis, Dave Jackson, and Addy Saucedo. We went over each tag in a feed as it relates to podcasting and covered the new Apple tags coming at the end of 2017. You can see how each tag translates here podcastersroundtable.com/pm17.

While at PM17, I brought my Sony a6500 and took it everywhere. When I go to podcast conferences, it's basically one big family reunion, seeing people I talk to all year on social and work with in podcasting. It was a lot of fun to capture their first reactions as I walked up to them with my vlogging rig.
The gear I used is not optimized for vlogging. The a6500 does not have a flip screen and I wasn't using a wide enough lens but when you know your limitations, you can do a lot to overcome them. I'm still happy with the results achieved and the a6500 impresses in low-light.
Here's how I setup the a6500 (all gear linked below)
• Movie Mode
• 1080, 25p and 60p
• Shutter Priority set between 1/50 - 1/100
• Sony 28mm F2
• Auto White Balance
• Image stabilization enabled
• Auto ISO
• Aperture is set automatically based on shutter speed
• Having an f2 lens was great in low-light & I'm impressed with the image even at f2
• Auto-focus: Continuous
• Focus mode: Zone (middle-top)
• PP7 Slog-2
• Exposure comp +1.5
• Rode VideoMic Pro
• Audio level: 15 with Rode VideoMic Pro set to: 0
• Manfrotto Pixi
• SmallRig cage for the a6500

![How to Record Skype for Interviews Using Call Recorder for Mac
The easiest way to record Skype on a Mac is using Ecamms Call Recorder. Heres how you set that up. For an up to date list of Skype recorders on Mac & Windows, see below or visit http://thepodcastersstudio.com/recskype
If you want to record a Skype interview on a Mac, maybe for a podcast, the super simple way to get that accomplished is to use Call Recorder from ecamm.
Not only does ecamm record separated audio tracks for the most control over your audio in post production but it also does HD video to separate tracks as well. However, in this tutorial the focus is recording audio only and how to create the separate tracks for you to edit after the interview.
This video also shows you how to setup Skype audio preferences to get the best audio for both you and your guest.
