This is a simple slit scan technique I'm playing with using a video camera and some software I wrote. The software is extremely bare-metal, it is written in C, uses the Allegro graphics library and has to be rewritten for different effects (for now at least).

The subject was recorded on U-Matic videotape, spinning for a while on a turntable at 16 RPM. If it was slower, there wouldn't be the obvious breakup as it twists. I transferred the tape to my PC as individual images to manipulate them.
