A short demonstration of my Astor entertainment unit. I didn't need to do anything to get it working correctly aside from adjusting some pots in the chassis. The capacitors in it are a pretty high grade.
The audio wasn't working with my RF modulator either, so I had to retune the IF stage (poorly, might I add). This is probably because the old standard for the sound carrier's frequency offset has changed since the set was built. Analogue television was shut off in April this year in Adelaide, so there are no broadcast channels to test it with.
There's a quality assurance tag which dates the set to 1963, making the set 50 years old. This would have been quite a piece to own back then!
