Here is a route I surprisingly didn't know still existed until Alex, Aaron and I headed out there last December. Nestled in the back of Agoura Hills are neighborhoods like these that are full of old and rare carts. This becomes a problem because neither of the 2 companies that took over after the original hauler (Las Virgenes Disposal) seemed to execute a rollout. Hence, the cart color coding system here is beyond screwed up... similar to that Ojai route Mike filmed a while back. I'll give you my best attempt to explain it down below.
Trash:
WM/GI light blue SSI Schaefers, Ottos and Rehrigs
WM dark blue Rehrigs that say "Recycling Only" with a "trash only" sticker on the lid
Any brown Las Virgenes Disposal cart
Gray Consolidated carts with a brown lid
Recycling:
Gray consolidated carts with green lid
Consolidated blue SSI Schaefers and rehrigs
WM/GI gray carts
Greenwaste:
any solid green cart
There were plenty of instances where the same house literally had 2 of the same color and model of cart out on the street (ie 2 light blue Schaefers) and the only markings that could potentially differentiate the two would be the Consolidated one is for recycling and the WM one was for trash.
As you could imagine, this system would certainly be confusing for incoming residents, people that don't care about sorting, the partially blind, and drivers when visibility is impeded. I'm definitely surprised that there wasn't more contamination, even at the one house that had a dark blue recycling cart that had a "trash only" sticker on the lid. Nonetheless, it was totally cool seeing a neighborhood full of those old Las Virgenes Zarns and older Consolidated carts.
