For those of you who don't know, Waste Connections is the parent company of 4 subsidiaries here on California's central coast: San Luis Garbage, Morro Bay Garbage, South County Sanitary, and Mission Country Disposal. And the end of the day, they all end up using the same trucks and the "designated" containers for each subsidiary have eventually found their way into different areas. Some of you may even remember some older videos of mine featuring some of their trucks.
After moving up to SLO last year, I have been super busy with school and work, so I haven't had much time to go out and film except on breaks. I recently brought up my car from LA and have had more freedom as a result. So this week I finally decided to head over to the Thursday route to film some trucks! I had seen new Automizers in the WC blue color scheme a few weeks ago and wanted to film them, along with other trucks I both knew and didn't know about. With that said, I found some pretty entertaining rigs! Not to mention the decent cart variety San Luis Obispo offers and extremely chill and friendly drivers all around!
1) brand new 2019 CNG Peterbilt 520 Labrie Automizer. I saw 2 others on the route but thought filming one should suffice. They also have an LR which I was unable to find.
2) CNG Autocar ACX Bridgeport Ranger with an iconic wrap of a photo of Madonna Mountain! (this is a great hike if any of you find yourself in the area :) )
3) revving diesel Autocar WX-64 Bridgeport Ranger. Definitely the fastest and most entertaining truck I found. I have known about this truck almost all year so I'm glad to have finally filmed it!
4) 2019 CNG Autocar ACX full-eject/extra thicc Bridgeport Ranger. The tailgate on this unit was pretty cool alongside just the immense size of the body. Probably one of the largest side loaders I've ever seen in person!
I hope to make this the first video of a series that I will work on over the next year. My goal is to make similar compilations to this of the other Waste Connections subsidiaries nearby.
