Exciting times. The second OSWA community voting kicks off later this week. I'd like to have fun with it.
But how? I'm not allowed to say anything; I need to wear my poker-face for the next few weeks. Worse, I can't reach out to fellow YouTuber or community reviewer/commentators for fear we'll be seen to 'lead' people. So what to do?
Easy. Reach out to community folk instead. I'm hoping to be joined by a few faces familiar to you. Should our availability stars all align I'm hoping for a Roddy appearance (he needs to be back from some mountaineering in time), alongside podcast host extraordinaire Gregor McWee (who needs to finish his shift on time) and always-up-for-fun Julie Hamilton (who needs to have her packing completed before a trip). All things going well, they'll bring a little independent opinion to things and no doubt some thoughtful picks for you to agree and disagree with.
I'll be asking them for their picks for each category - with a gamified twist. They need to share what they would put forward as a nomination and also what they think will actually be nominated - even if it's the same!
They'll get a point for each that is correct.
This will then hopefully encourage the comments to flood with community predictions (I hope) with me giving a wee non-alcohol prize out to whoever scores the best before the actual nominations are released 24 hours later.
I hope this idea generates a wee bit of fun and proactive thought for the categories ahead of the public vote - without a single wink of giving anything away from me.
