I know that sometimes the channel feels like it's built around trying to find the best value whiskies, for me and everyone else. But, truthfully, it's not. It's built around the love of whisky. That means, occasionally, celebrating the absolute best we can.
It's different for everyone. Some of us have been around whisky for long enough that we've collected a few amazing bottles over the years, while others are enjoying amazing experiences with more modest or recent discoveries. One thing unites all though; the sheer pleasure of it.
If we're honest, we all have favourites and bottles we'd consider our 'best'. It's certainly the case with me, and I'm trying to think of a topic that better suits wheeling out these 'best bottles' than sharing with a friend. With the topics we like to focus on in the vPub, it'll be rare that these kinds of bottles will ever be seen behind the bar. So, let's make an exception.
Lee Ann, from Louisiana's Scotch on the Bayou YouTube channel, has travelled all the way across the Atlantic, her third time now, and will spend one of her precious evenings in Scotland hanging out with us. In return, I'll dig out and pour those that I currently consider my ‘best’ and hopefully get to enjoy some of that amazing vicarious reaction that makes up so much of our whisky fun.
However, this is still the vPub, and we have to keep some things practical. So I'll also drop in a fantastic budget pour and keep Lee Ann guessing as she makes her way around the vPub's top picks.
