After a flight from Toronto to Victoria, it was a pleasant change of place to visit the famous Butchart Gardens. You would never guess that this lush, peaceful garden used to be a limestone quarry! But in the early 1900's, Jennie Butchart transformed these 55 acres into the tranquil and beautiful garden that many tourists and locals visit every year.
After spending a few hours on the property, we checked into our Airbnb in downtown Victoria and settled in for the night to prepare for the next full day of vacation on Vancouver Island.
