In August 2019, we took a four day trip to some of the Eastern provinces of Canada and had a fantastic time exploring the great outdoors along the coast.
We visited:
Peggy's Cove located in Nova Scotia, famous for Peggy's Point Lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse in Canada. We then drove a short distance to the SwissAir Memiorial site which commemorates the 1998 crash of SwissAir flight III which crashed on these shores.
The next day we drove to Prince Edward Island via Confederation Bridge which is the longest bridge in Canada. We spent the day in Charlottown, the capital city and visited Saint Dunstan's Cathedral, checked out an art gallery on George Street and took some pics in front of the Anne of Green Gables store (PEI's most famous redhead). Then we walked through the downtown open air market and check out the handicrafts. We then took a stroll down to Peak's Wharf where you can check out the sailing boats and then get some ice cream at Cow's ice cream shop.
The next day we visited Hopewell Rocks, located in New Brunswick. Twice a day at low tide, you can walk the ocean floor and admire the flower pot rocks that have been formed over thousands of years of erosion.
We also checked out the tidal bore, located in Moncton, New Brunswick where twice a day you can watch the muddy tide roll in and even get a look at someone surfing the wave on the Peticodiac river.
If you love lobster, you'll love visiting Shediac, considered the lobster capital of the world!
