At the moment I'm especially fond of the original trilogy, so I decided my next focus would be Luke and Leia. I truly think I have used Leia too little until now, but I want to make up for that because she's amazing! I've been wanting to vid the Skywalker twins for ages, but kept changing the song I wanted to use and always ended up with nothing as a result. But now that I've discovered Broken Iris, this song just made me think of them, maybe because to me it sounds like a lullaby, and I think it could fit the theme of the separate children well. I'm not that happy with the final result, but I hope at least someone out there will enjoy it more than I do...
Basically, the video is supposed to focus on the twins' emotions towards each other, and how they always felt that unexplainable bond between them even long before they knew of their past. They are always united through the Force, and the Force guides them through their journey together, even if to Leia it's harder to accept and acknowledge the powers she has within. They are and will always be there for each other.
Ps: about one of the ending scenes...please DON'T come here and tell me that Padmé wasn't Force sensitive, and therefore she could not appear as a ghost. I do know, but I've always thought that the children deserved to see their mother too at the end of everything.
Now I'm going back to my Italian literature books. I'm having a big test tomorrow, and I'm rather worried :S

Ice skating makes me happy...and this show (and ship) does too. I honestly dont know why I waited so long to start watching it – I think I was a bit afraid it would be too fanservice-y ^^ – but instead I find a very sensitive product to the challenges, fears and pressure actual skaters face, with beautiful choreography and skating animations and really lovable characters...well, consider me sold!
(If I really had to pinpoint one annoying thing about this fandom, its a part of the fanbase that feels the need to comment on every single real skating video with YOI stuff...I found it amusing at first, but its getting really annoying that I cant go back anymore and rewatch one of my favourite FS by Yuzuru, for example, without finding hundreds of comments like “omg real life Yuuri” or something along these lines. Skaters are amazing and extra hard workers on their own right – and Im very happy this anime is giving the actual sport more exposure because god knows it needs it and deserves all the love and attention, but constantly having to throw the anime in the middle without even acknowledging the real skater doing the real magic in the video youre commenting is so unbelievably rude T.T)
Minirant over, and back to these two adorbs – I think I have a knack for falling headlong for the underrated ships with two scenes in total when compared to the main ship. (Even though the official art that keeps popping out...I really dont know how some people can keep saying these two are only ever going to be friends when they depict them having cute breakfast dates and wearing matching freaking shirts, excuse me I cant hear you over the sound of all the canon-ness. In any case, I just adore their relationship in every form ♥). Btw dont get me wrong, I really like Victuuri, they are two precious dorks and married af, but something about these two...it must be that cool motorbike of Otabeks u.u and him rescuing Yurio like a true prince...or the fact that it took Yurio –aka the actual grumpycat of the show– an entire season to mature and go from disdain to respect towards Yuuri, but it only took him a single chat to open up with Beka and after that you only ever see him so relaxed and smiling in his presence, its so heartwarming :3
(Also I might have a very serious and very irrational crush on him too, but shhhh, you didnt hear that...and yes, I totally stole Yuuris ending quote about ice and love for this video because I believe it fits these two & the whole show in general so well, too.)
Finally, this is for my dear beautiful girl Becca (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVSvdlf4Ey32vsflweq9cIg), because she is the #1 fan of this show (and these two) I know, my official fanart provider and fangirling partner (and she has to bear with me spamming her with skating videos now xD), and most of all because she is going through a “down” period very similar to what Im experiencing atm and I know all too well how ugly it feels...and hope this can make her smile even if just a little. Lets try being each others Victor, at least in the support&motivation department ;_;

Losing your grip before it all fades...
This video hasnt come out really well in some parts, but as I had to finish it overnight because Im leaving for a week today I guess I can be happy with it xD.
This was made for the One Effect round of BOIT; for this round we had to choose one effect to use throughout the video, along with other basic effects allowed. I chose Gaussian Blur, and I basically used all of the other allowed fx.
I cant properly express my love for this film, it has easily become one of my faves! The story is so haunting and beautiful, and I was pleasantly surprised at how significantly the fantasy and the real-life storyline entwine together. This song made me think of Ofelia, the little protagonist, because to me the lyrics describe exactly what she does, using her colorful mind to escape the violent, awful reality she lives in.

There are so, so many characters and relationships worth vidding in the Medici series as a whole that I wholeheartedly love (this first autumn without it feels rather empty, on top of all the other awful, disorienting happenings 2020 has brought). Yet I somehow always seem to come back to s2 – the superior season, lets all be honest here – and brothers of choice torn apart by poor decisions, deeply rooted dichotomies and manipulative old men...just like another all-time favourite pair of mine.
Also: this turned out really shippy and I regret absolutely nothing. (If you will, especially blame Daniels utter lack of chill and disregard of personal space as Lorenzo for the entirety of that season for it.)
Shoutout to Kim and Lauren for letting me enthuse about these tragic boys while I was working on this; as always, you are beyond lovely and my slowpoke self doesnt deserve you.

A summary to the inception of this video: Vale gets sucked into a new fandom, catches one of her notorious sympathy for the devil cases, ends up only really rooting ship-wise for the one ship in said show that eventually explodes into a supernova of angst, and suffers for it. See a pattern? Because I do xD when will I ever learn, honestly.
I can safely say Im never regretting finally picking up Voltron though granted, I might have wanted to pick a less crazy season to culminate my episodes-marathon with ^^ but this show is amazing in every possible way. Multi-layered, relatable, diverse and engaging characters at every corner, deep themes and amazing art style make it the real virtual heir to ATLA that LOK never quite was to me. After seeing so many gorgeous edits around its so exciting to be able to join the fray!
There are so many things and people worth vidding about in the show (makes me wish I didnt suck so much at general videos) and I have a lot of favourites, but these two had to take precedence because...after seeing s5 and s6 one after the other I needed some serious elaboration of feels. This is the result, which I hope doesnt show too much how new to the fandom I am ^^
As for Lotor himself, who is a bit of a hot topic at the moment...I have lots, lots to say about him and Ill thank the stars forever for Anouk and Becca, aka the ones who prompted me to finally dive into VLD, to have born with my ramblings these past couple of weeks in which I have annoyed them to no end (and especially Anouk, who doesnt even like him all that much ^^) here I will just say that, however you see him, he is amazingly complex and one of the most fascinating antagonists in recent media, I think. Despite his terrible deeds, I still believe he has it in him to do right by the end of this story and deserves to have a shot at freeing himself from the shadows of his upbringing, but I suppose only time will tell which reading of him is correct and if he really is just a charming, crafty bastard (for which I will probably love him no less) xD. In the meantime, I was overly glad to hear the producers confirm his feelings for Allura as very real a tiny bit of vindication as a shipper, and perhaps a clue that he really isnt 24/7 manipulating people. Arent shades of grey better in a character anyway?
