Ice skating makes me happy...and this show (and ship) does too. I honestly don't know why I waited so long to start watching it – I think I was a bit afraid it would be too fanservice-y ^^ – but instead I find a very sensitive product to the challenges, fears and pressure actual skaters face, with beautiful choreography and skating animations and really lovable characters...well, consider me sold!
(If I really had to pinpoint one annoying thing about this fandom, it's a part of the fanbase that feels the need to comment on every single real skating video with YOI stuff...I found it amusing at first, but it's getting really annoying that I can't go back anymore and rewatch one of my favourite FS by Yuzuru, for example, without finding hundreds of comments like “omg real life Yuuri” or something along these lines. Skaters are amazing and extra hard workers on their own right – and I'm very happy this anime is giving the actual sport more exposure because god knows it needs it and deserves all the love and attention, but constantly having to throw the anime in the middle without even acknowledging the real skater doing the real magic in the video you're commenting is so unbelievably rude T.T)

Minirant over, and back to these two adorbs – I think I have a knack for falling headlong for the underrated ships with two scenes in total when compared to the main ship. (Even though the official art that keeps popping out...I really don't know how some people can keep saying these two are only ever going to be friends when they depict them having cute breakfast dates and wearing matching freaking shirts, excuse me I can't hear you over the sound of all the canon-ness. In any case, I just adore their relationship in every form ♥). Btw don't get me wrong, I really like Victuuri, they are two precious dorks and married af, but something about these two...it must be that cool motorbike of Otabek's u.u and him rescuing Yurio like a true prince...or the fact that it took Yurio –aka the actual grumpycat of the show– an entire season to mature and go from disdain to respect towards Yuuri, but it only took him a single chat to open up with Beka and after that you only ever see him so relaxed and smiling in his presence, it's so heartwarming :3
(Also I might have a very serious and very irrational crush on him too, but shhhh, you didn't hear that...and yes, I totally stole Yuuri's ending quote about ice and love for this video because I believe it fits these two & the whole show in general so well, too.)

Finally, this is for my dear beautiful girl Becca (youtube.com/channel/UCVSvdlf4Ey32vsflweq9cIg), because she is the #1 fan of this show (and these two) I know, my official fanart provider and fangirling partner (and she has to bear with me spamming her with skating videos now xD), and most of all because she is going through a “down” period very similar to what I'm experiencing atm and I know all too well how ugly it feels...and hope this can make her smile even if just a little. Let's try being each other's Victor, at least in the support&motivation department ;_;
