A summary to the inception of this video: Vale gets sucked into a new fandom, catches one of her notorious "sympathy for the devil" cases, ends up only really rooting ship-wise for the one ship in said show that eventually explodes into a supernova of angst, and suffers for it. See a pattern? Because I do xD when will I ever learn, honestly.

I can safely say I'm never regretting finally picking up Voltron though -- granted, I might have wanted to pick a less crazy season to culminate my episodes-marathon with ^^' but this show is amazing in every possible way. Multi-layered, relatable, diverse and engaging characters at every corner, deep themes and amazing art style make it the real virtual heir to ATLA that LOK never quite was to me. After seeing so many gorgeous edits around it's so exciting to be able to join the fray!
There are so many things and people worth vidding about in the show (makes me wish I didn't suck so much at general videos) and I have a lot of favourites, but these two had to take precedence because...after seeing s5 and s6 one after the other I needed some serious elaboration of feels. This is the result, which I hope doesn't show too much how new to the fandom I am ^^

As for Lotor himself, who is a bit of a hot topic at the moment...I have lots, lots to say about him and I'll thank the stars forever for Anouk and Becca, aka the ones who prompted me to finally dive into VLD, to have born with my ramblings these past couple of weeks in which I have annoyed them to no end (and especially Anouk, who doesn't even like him all that much ^^') -- here I will just say that, however you see him, he is amazingly complex and one of the most fascinating antagonists in recent media, I think. Despite his terrible deeds, I still believe he has it in him to do right by the end of this story and deserves to have a shot at freeing himself from the shadows of his upbringing, but I suppose only time will tell which reading of him is correct and if he really is just a charming, crafty bastard (for which I will probably love him no less) xD. In the meantime, I was overly glad to hear the producers confirm his feelings for Allura as very real -- a tiny bit of vindication as a shipper, and perhaps a clue that he really isn't 24/7 manipulating people. Aren't shades of grey better in a character anyway?
