Try Vietnamese vegan food at Mr. Red Cafe because this place used to be a restaurant that served non-vegan/vegetarian dishes and has now gone fully vegan for its food. Their drink and dessert sections are not vegan, but it’s always encouraging to see how restaurants make the switch to veganism or vegetarianism! Mr. Red Cafe is located in Kitsilano and they have a sister restaurant nearby that is not vegetarian, so make a note that it’s Mr. Red Vegetarian that you’re going to! There’s plenty of seating inside and the service is friendly and attentive. We ordered the vegetarian noodle soup and the house special rice. They have appetizers, other noodle and rice dishes, and baguettes, so there’s plenty to try.
