Pizza in Portland, Oregon, and not just any pizza - it’s vegan Detroit-style pizza at Boxcar Pizza. We have never had the chance to try Detroit-style pizza and we were very excited that there was an all vegan version for us to review! We visited on a weekend and there was a continuous stream of customers getting pizza. There are seats along the window, but there’s also a shared seating space if you go through the back of Boxcar Pizza. The names of their pizza are inspired by the song titles of various punk bands which is a fun way to create a menu! We shared the Head in Collision and it was square, thick, and cut into four pieces. There are plenty of other kinds of pizzas we’d love to try on a future visit and if you go on a weekday, you can order slices and not only a whole pizza like we did.
