This was a fun day as I started out along Donner Pass on the western side of the hill, moving towards Roseville and then up the Valley and Sacramento Subs for a couple trains. Something very unique happened... the westbound BNSF trackage rights train, the H-PVOSTO, had some engine problems with their original leader. They had no working dynamic brakes. So their wonderful solution was to take their trailing unit, which was a SD70ACe and run it long hood forward all the way down the hill! It was quite the sight to see. AMTK 203 also made an appearance on Donner while the rest of the trains were all pretty normal. Along the Sac Sub, a southbound BNSF manifest came through and I was able to get a neat shot of it passing the classic searchlight signals. Then I made my over to the Valley Sub where there was a northbound UP manifest headed to Hinkle, OR with three SD70Ms in the lead! That was also really cool as those locos are getting harder to find, especially on the point. There are many other trains to be seen in the video so enjoy!
