This video includes railfanning in Davis and Oakland! I hopped on the train with a friend and got off in Oakland to railfan for a bit before turning around back to Davis. There is a very special Capitol Corridor in this video: the train with CDTX 2002 and AMTK 146. The F59PHI 2002 was out of service for quite some time for mechanical reasons, go figure. So that was the first time it was back out on the main on a revenue train. But not just that, a rare P42DC locomotive 146 acted as the training wheels since the 2002 was testing. P42s are very rare on these state ran trains, so that was also quite the sight to see! AMTK 301 'day one' scheme is also seen leading the northbound Coast Starlight 14 with a great hornshow.
