With a clip out of bounds, it's possible to reach the Death Mountain elevator room from below.

- Midna jump up to the ledge and transform into human
- Go into the corner and walk slightly left into the ledge, so that Link climbs as far right as possible
- While targeting, wait for Link to stand fully from the edge and raise his shield, then perform a target roll (L + A) and immediately hold up on the control stick so that Link will jump when he reaches the edge. Holding up too late will result in a neutral drop out of bounds
- After beginning to hold up, mash B to pull sword and get a jumpslash right after jumping to land out of bounds
- Transform to wolf immediately after landing, and B-attack or walk forward to avoid the goron's attacks. From here, aim directly towards the vertical pipe and dash off the ledge to land in the elevator room.

Rather than using the item wheel for Back in Time like normal, as you have to save here anyway, its possible to open the save menu during the jump attack and reset after selecting Yes on the continue prompt to get an easy and fast BiT.
Unfortunately if you pause on the incorrect frame you cannot simply close the menu and attempt to open the item wheel on the normal horizontal sword frame, as theres a large delay after closing the menu before you can pause again. This means you have to attempt to back up incorrect frame pauses with different reset timings.
FRAME DATA:
CORRECT FRAME (Second possible pause frame of the jump attack, shown in this video):
- Save
- Select Yes on the continue prompt, can mash as the reset timing is lenient
- Any time after selecting Yes by pressing A and before the screen fades completely black, reset by holding Start + X + B and releasing A (I hold Start and X pre-emptively in this video). The reset will wait to start until after the save menu closes, making the window to reset here very large. Here I reacted to Yes being selecting from my mashing of A, then reset.
- It is also possible, and potentially easier, to reset with the console reset button. Again, any time after pressing A to select Yes on the continue prompt (but before the menu closes fully) press and release the console reset button. It wont reset until you release the button, so I like to hold it early, press A, and release after.
LATE FRAME (Third possible pause frame of the jump attack, 1 frame after the pause shown in this video, sword at a 45 degree angle from the left). It is possible to back this up with a console reset.
- Save
- Hold the console reset button, and when the continue prompt appears (it has a small delay before its usable, wait a bit until then) release the console reset button and press A on the same frame. The timing for this is surprisingly easy.
- If timed correctly you will hear the menu close but the sound will quickly fade out. If you release the console reset button before pressing A, you wont be able to select Yes to continue.

EARLY FRAME (First possible pause frame of the jump attack, 1 frame earlier than shown in this video, sword horizontal to the left): It is possible, but very difficult, to back this up with a long delay on the reset after selecting Yes to continue.
- Save
- Press A to select Yes to continue
- 12f after selecting Yes, on the exact frame the menu closes, reset either with Start+X+B (shown in the demonstration video below) or with the console reset button.
- This is a very awkward timing, its probably safer to simply void in this case, but its possible to back it up hence this description

This trick is quite hard to do with the pointer aim, and its faster by so much that turning it off for the trick and then on again would still be faster than doing the fight normally.
I found it very difficult. After the setup to get in position I would always be aiming a little too far to the right, and need to adjust. I also very frequently got voided out in the gate when doing it this way, which has only happened to me once using pointer aiming, as well as having a fake target appear.

Dashing at a precise spot here causes a quick climb. Not really worth it to try for since its really easy to just not grab the ledge, or grab and get pushed off it. Only useful in the Wii version due to needing it to make it up after Helmasaur LJA.
