My sweet little Léa, on September 9th, 2025, we had to say goodbye, and it was the toughest decision of our lives. Your departure was far too unfair… You were taken from us while you were still fighting with so much courage and love for life. Until the very end, you had that spark, that desire to stay with us, and that is what makes your absence so painful.
For six years, you were our baby, our third musketeer, our little ball of joy — 3.5 kg of pure happiness. Adopted as an adult, you came into our lives as if straight out of a movie, and the bond was immediate, larger than life. Together, we went through a lockdown, an ocean, two country moves… until we finally found our happiness in San Sebastian. For the past four years, we were inseparable, 24 hours a day. Our entire routine revolved around you: our mornings, our evenings, our walks, our work, our play, our quiet moments. You were the center of our universe, and that’s exactly how we loved it.
You had the energy of a puppy, always jumping for your favorite biscuit, always making us smile. But little by little, illness began to take hold of your small body. Seizure after seizure, you lost your sight, your hearing, your strength… but never your appetite, never your love, never that joy for life that made you the most wonderful companion. Even when everything seemed to be falling apart, you still found the strength to come to us for a cuddle or to savor one of your treats.
Until your very last moments, you showed us what courage truly means. You left in our arms, at home, surrounded by love, warmth, and comfort. Our hearts broke that day, and they will remain broken until we meet again on the other side of the rainbow.
