While we were in Mayberry (Mt. Airy, NC) the week of March 3, 2024, we checked out the local nearby town of Yadkinville, NC and didn’t find Barney Fife but we did encounter a cop named “Cletus.” We were informed he “needed” to see our ID but we were ready for any unlawful demands. Would Cletus respect our rights or would he try to violate them?

Often using police body camera footage, 911 call recordings, and covert camera angles, with a few laughs thrown in, KULT News is a First Amendment audit channel you won’t soon forget. Enjoy the deer-in-the-headlights looks as incompetent cops see a mild-mannered citizen just out taking photos turn into a news reporter well-versed on his Constitutional rights right before their eyes.

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.

![DUMBEST COP IN AMERICA FOUND IN OHIO? - FIRST AMENDMENT AUDIT
On Sept. 18, 2023, KULT News made an unannounced visit to the USDA Miami Soil & Water Conservaton District in Miami County, OH where we encountered a pair of the most incompetent and ignorant Sheriff’s deputies we believe we’ve ever met.
[NOTE: The public servant that called 911 had the gall to claim her privacy was violated by this video. Due to this complaint, we jumped through the YouTube hoops and blurred her face where YouTube claimed it needed to be blurred. If you ask us, this just draws MORE attention to her but we’ll play her reindeer games.]
One of the deputies, shockingly a Lieutenant who you would think would know the difference between public and private properties and, I dunno, maybe know how to properly dress himself for the day, seemed to feel as if citizens can’t take photos in public if they can’t give him the legal definition of “public.”
The other deputy was so new he didn’t dare even approach me without direct supervision from the far more incompetent (IMO) senior deputy.
Work seemed to come to a standstill in the entire building we visited this day as all of the public servants seemed upset or confused about our First Amendment rights. Simply put, this was one of the craziest audits we’ve conducted yet.
Buckle up, sit back and click “play” to find out what happens after one deputy gets off the phone with a county prosecutor and utters the words, “This isn’t government property. He goes to jail.”
Also, be sure to stick around for a lot of bonus footage at the end.
If you want to skip the previews (aka spoiler alerts) then skip to the 1:24 mark in the video.
