KULT News visited the old stomping grounds of Mike’s father back when he worked for the News-Herald in Panama City, FL. back in the 1960s when they won the Pulitzer.
Of course, as is almost always the case, we got the cops called on us multiple times. Would the callers tell the truth or would they lie as so many have done before them? Would any responding officers recognize and respect our First Amendment rights or would they try to violate them as so many have done before?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
