This is one of ten recordings I just did for 'Cliff As If & The Golden Shadows', for their forthcoming album. I joined the band just before the pandemic, did three shows with them, and now of course like everyone else, we are in limbo.
I find every Shadows track a huge challenge to play. Brian Bennett is a superb drummer and his jazzy style makes these instrumentals remarkably tough to learn, memorise and pull-off - especially live! I have to concentrate 100% or else I've had it.
Hope you enjoy this. It's the first of probably half a dozen or so Shads videos I will release over the coming days and weeks (I've recorded 10 vids).
The backing track is original Shadows, with the drums (mostly) removed. So what you hear on this video is 95% my drums, and just a few artefacts from the original drums. I used XTrax Stems II software.
