RetroPlay: Video Game Walkthroughs
The Legend of Dragoon
by: OmegaSion
The party ascends the roots of the Divine Tree to try to prevent the birth of the God of Destruction.
This section is quite linear, there a couple of treasures you can pick up, one of which is well hidden.
Once you reach the save point, I recommend equipping your talismans, phoenix plumes, and the rainbow earring for the upcoming boss.
The boss fight in this area can be either a pain or a pushover depending on if it decides to blast the party with status effects over and over again.
Like the last boss battle, hold off on using your buffs and debuffs because this boss is actually three monsters in one, and you have to fight each of it's metamorphosis states. The first being the Caterpillar which can inflict stun and poison effects on you. It's not too difficult, just annoying.
Once you bring it's HP down to a certain point it will transform into a pupa. This form has no attacks so if you need healing simply have your party members defend to raise their HP. Once done just wail away at it and it'll transform into Imago.
Imago is a bit of a pain, still inflicting status effects on the team and it also has an instant KO attack as well. Once it transforms into this form feel free to use your debuff and buff items. Doing so will help bring the boss down faster.
Once the boss goes down we are free to continue up the Divine Tree and we will be doing just that in the next segment.
