Playthrough with the Fiery Vigor team: Kyo, Mai and Billy. The Japanese version of KoF ’97 has three exclusive endings, which were to do with three different Japanese gaming magazines. This team combination was chosen by Neo Geo Freak magazine. Mai is great for taking down Orochi Iori -just use her ryu en bu move. Some opponents don’t know how to avoid her fans either.
The PS1 port of KoF ’97 has noticeable animation cuts, Billy and Terry’s stances for example look really bad when compared to the Neo Geo version. The between round loading is surprisingly quick through! A definite improvement over the PS1 port of KoF ’96. The intro looks awful, as it’s an FMV. I think the devs knew it didn't look good, as you have to wait around at the main menu for a while to get it to play.
