Playthrough with Basara. Welcome to 4K gaming! Doesn't it look amazing??? No? Well if you're like me, you can tell the difference between 720 and 1080p, but anything above that it's kind of like uuuuuuum. I'll try a 3D game next week, maybe it's more noticeable with those.
The key to one credit clearing this game is to use honorable deaths a lot and beat the opponent as quickly as possible. With Basara, you need to defeat all enemies in under 10 minutes if you want the ending, credits and bonus scene. Easier said than done when the CPU input reads and blocks too much.
Doing an honorable death instantly loses you the round, but you’ll start the next one with a full POW gauge, meaning you do more damage. You can win the first few fights with lots of heavy slash attacks. But then the CPU starts getting more block-heavy. The reason I was able to beat this with Basara is because of his command grab move.
In the previous game, there was a CPU exploit involving jumping towards the opponent doing an air attack, and as they block, immediately do your character’s command grab, repeat. This can kind of work in this game too… kind of. It works better on some characters than others, the CPU has a habit of jumping away when you try and get the grab. It does work pretty well on Zakuro, although it can lead to some comical moments (16:29).
Amakusa is annoying because he teleports around way too much. You can sometimes grab him when he starts his teleport, but it’s difficult.
