Progressive Overload is key.
One common mistake mistake I see, especially when attempting to build strength/capacity in the body is not continuing to challenge the body.
When it comes to building strength, you need to work the area enough.
However, what may have been a stimulus to create an adaptation before… may no longer be one later on.
This is because your body ADAPTS.
If your goal is to continue to build strength/capacity in a certain region, continue to challenge it.
Though one of the big underlying factors behind not loading a key area more is fear of injury.
This is ironic because resistance training is typically implemented for runners to help them better handle the demands of running.
Just remember that it is all in the dosage.
Finding the right balance between resistance training and running is important.
