Changing to a forefoot strike is NOT always better for knee pain.

🔑What works for certain people may not work for others.
Researchers looked at how different form changes affect runners with knee pain. (Esculier et al. 2023)
To keep this simple, they looked at how these cues affected knee pain.
However, the results are not the simple.
While changing to a forefoot strike and increasing cadence seemed to help the most, there are mixed results.
For certain people, these kinds of changes made the pain worse.
There are even some who actually had decreased pain when told to heel strike.
The point here is to realize that navigating pain and injury is a complex process.
What works for certain people may not work for others.
And what works may not always be something you would have expected.
