Electronic component obsolescence is a major issue because components fall out of production. This can be a major issue if a component becomes obsolete while equipment using it is still being manufactured, or where a product needs to be maintained.
Sourcing obsolete components from authorised, i.e. not fake or counterfeit components is one of the major issues within the electronics industry as electronic components often cease production and become obsolete.
