Back in 1992, SEGA surprised everyone with Ecco the Dolphin, an adventure unlike anything else on the Genesis. Instead of speed, explosions, or arcade action, players explored mysterious oceans using echolocation while uncovering one of gaming's most unusual sci-fi stories. Developed by the Hungarian studio Novotrade (later Appaloosa Interactive), Ecco became famous for its stunning underwater atmosphere, beautiful soundtrack, and brutal difficulty.
