Bert Kaempfert and His Orchestra ♪♪♪ Wonderland By Night ♪♪♪ Highest chart position = 1 ♪♪♪ First European Orchestra to score a number one hit in the US
This original instrumental version of Wonderland By Night was one of three top 20 versions in about a year, including a vocal version by Anita Bryant.
BERNIE EBBINGHOUSE
Conductor-arranger and composer of numerous filmscores.
In the mid sixties (1965) Ebbinghouse eg composed and scored the music for "Invasion", a British SF-fantasy directed by Alan Bridges.
Born in Germany, Ebbinghouse moved to the UK at a very young age (in 1935). He started his musical career as an arranger for Geraldo and His Orchestra.
Other film soundtrack and TV credits : "The Human Jungle" (TV series), "The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre" (TV series) and the films" Act of Murder", "Ricochet" and "Attempt to Kill" (all of which were released in the 1960s).
He also was musical director during the production of numerous other British films.
MY GUY
"My Guy" is a 1964 hit single recorded by Mary Wells for the Motown label. Written and produced by Smokey Robinson of The Miracles, the song is a woman's dedication to the goodness of her man. My Guy" became the biggest hit ever for Wells, Motown's first female star, and reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. The song led the Cashbox magazine R&B chart for seven weeks.

A straightforward arrangement of the famous sixties hit but.... as there aren't too many orchestral versions of this song, and because it's one of my all time favourite popsongs .... I couldn't resist posting it. I have no idea why, but I can listen to this song for hours without being bored or getting a feeling of "too much is too much" ;-) Whether you want to play it more than once is, of course, your choice, but even when listening only once : hope you'll enjoy !
