Louis Braille (1809 - 1852) - A French educator who invented "Braille," a method of writing and printing named after him which enabled the blind to read through the use of their hands. He was blinded when he was three due to an accident but he was an excellent organist.

Augusto Algueró Dasca was a Spanish arranger, composer and music director. Algueró studied both music and medicine Among his most famous compositions are Penélope, which he wrote specially for Joan Manuel Serrat, as well as Noelia (Nino Bravo), Tómbola (Marisol) and La chica ye-ye for Concha Velasco
In 1969, he served as one of the conductors of the Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Madrid that year. He conducted "Catherine", sung by Romuald Figuier, which represented Luxembourg and "Vivo Cantando", sung by Salomé, which represented Spain. "Vivo Cantando" tied for first place with three other songs at 18 points. The win marked Spain's second win in the contest, the first time a country had won two years in a row. In all, during the course of his career, Algueró wrote more than 500 songs and about 200 musical scores for films and television
A WINTER WORLD OF LOVE
Was written by British top composer Barry Mason (who also wrote
"The Last Waltz", "Here It Comes Again", "I Pretend", "There Goes My First Love", "A Man Without Love", "Now That You are Gone", "Rowbottom Square" and "Delilah".
The version sung by Engelbert Humperdinck scored the highest position in the charts (1968).

Bring a great composer, a great orchestrator-arranger and a fine song together and ... this is what you get. Augusto Alguero brings us a wonderful and romantic version of this Barry Mason "classic" (or evergreen if you want). Some of the musical phrases are accentuated by his singers and, here and there lyrics have been "freely interpreted". Thus, Alguero pretty much makes the song "his own" - something which he did with many other famous pop songs as well.
With winter "on the march" in the northern hemisphere, and with the countdown to Christmas nearly starting here, this is our "prelude" to many more musical surprises to come ....
