Let’s take a look at this new 12-year-old Barrel Proof bourbon called The Ambassador from Dave Schmier of Proof and Wood Ventures. The bourbon barrels used for this were sourced from MGP (Indiana) and used their “low rye” mashbill of 75% Corn, 21% Rye and 4% Barley and was bottled at 105.7 proof. Retail on this one was $100, but with only a production run of 600 bottles, it sold out quickly. It can still be found through secondary channels for $200-$250.
