Today we decided to pack for a picnic and Thanos insisted on bringing the "tunes." He bragged about his "dance moves," and we kind of blew him off. Looks like he was right, but only a few "light years" behind the times. Anyway...
Technically:
The Thanos character was re-rigged for Unity Humanoid and motion capture data was derived from Brekel Body Pro and Xsens (a "Gangnam Style" demo mocap file - xsens.com/news/motion-capture-files-for-psy-gangnam-style) FBX files were imported and converted to Unity Humanoid animation format.
The Augmented/Mixed Reality app was created using Google ARCore v1.4.1 with modified touch control and anchor system so I could alway have fixed distance from camera, but always anchored to a discovered plane, which are made invisible after tapping and placing Thanos in the scene. Thanos, speakers, amp, shadow plane and spotlight are made into a prefab to all elements to remain together once anchored to a discovered plane. Lighting also includes realtime 'Directional Light' and 'Environment Light' using a custom cubemap of the forest as well as a 'Reflection Probe' for realistic surface reflections. It was my hope to match the 'Directional Light' angle to that of time of day, but I was off by an hour. A future version of this will have tap control of angle of light to better match the lighting (and shadow) direction. This was done as a 32-bit OpenGl 3.1, Android 8.1 app

If you want to play with the app yourself. Make sure the ARCore SDK on your Android phone is up to date and you are on Android 8.1, then sideload the APK (in the link below). Give yourself plenty of space (preferably outdoors) since Thanos will be about ten feet from you when you detect a plane and you tap on the screen.
Note: It runs well on the Pixel XL 2, but unsure how it will run on the original Pixel or anything less than a Snapdragon 835.
