In this episode we talk about what's going on at CES 2018 in 3D fabrication, scanning, VR, AR and yes even XR, which I am happy to say will bring the announcement of "Core Prism," a product I am working using Mira's Prism (mirareality.com) and Occipital's new OEM scanner module the 'Core Structure' (structure.io/core). Imagine your iPhone X being the hottest mobile mixed reality device out there for far less than the still vapor Magic Leap or the Hololens, yet still giving you a mixed reality view twice the size of a "VHS tape." You can check out the prototype at the Occipital booth (LVCC, South Hall 1 - 21029) Tuesday - Friday next week.
But that isn't all. It appears my favorite headset, the HTC/Vive is getting sharper vision and the new tracking system. XYZ is making consumer 3D printing even more affordable, Lulzbot will be demonstrating the end of humanity -- no just making a 3D printer with a 3D printer. Luxecel is 3D printing the lenses for the soon to be announced Vuzix AR headsets and real-time 3D scanning for physical therapy?
Finally, Vince goes to CES, well sort of. Look for Vince in alpha version of "Chatting with Vincent" to try that will work with the HTC/Vive, Oculus RIft and the Microsoft Mixed Reality headsets for FREE as free zip file to manually copy to your games directory and run.
