I went down the rabbit hole and am now fully invested in Anomaly Games and therefore I wanted to record and archive more of them. Ten Bells is a game that received a lot of positivity from the community and the developers were so nice that they offered me a key for the game.
Ten Bells takes a familiar formula of the Anomaly Game where you go through the same environment again and again as you keep on the lookout for things that are out of place. Some of the anomalies can be quite subtle while others are very much in your face or outright scary.
The theme and setting of a local pub is great and such a warm, cozy atmosphere compared to the bright, clinical levels often seen in other Anomaly Games. There is a lot to see and take in.
Some of the scares were also fantastic and really scared me. The sound design is top notch and in terms of presentation this might be the best anomaly game I have played yet.
There is also some interesting lore and story to discover and in order to get the true ending you will need to unlock all anomalies.
Probably the weakest point is that after you have completed the game and want to see all the other anomalies, you still get segments where no anomaly occurs. These segments can take quite a bit of time since you are looking everywhere for potential anomalies when in truth there are none. This can be a bit of a waste when trying to unlock the true ending by witnessing all the other anomalies. Other than that it is a fantastic game and ranks amongst the highest in its genre.
