I love me some Mario Party and throughout the years there have been amazing Mario Party titles and some that were of a lesser quality. Luckily Mario Party Superstars offers some of the best content in Mario Party history in a gorgeous HD coat of paint. Mario Superstars has five boards that are taken from the first three Mario Party games and showcases them like you've never seen it before. It was so nostalgic and awesome to revisit Yoshi's Tropical Island or Peach's Birthday Cake in this version.
Also the minigames are taken from earlier parts and are presented with the new, gorgeous graphics. What is really cool is that unique gameplay mechanics like Item Minigames or the usage of the Skeleton Key are restricted to the boards belonging to those Mario Party titles. So you won't have the item minigames or skeleton keys in the boards belonging to the first Mario Party, but they are present in the board from Mario Party 2 and 3. This also applies to the bank system that takes 5 coins everytime you pass it.
The boards that are available really offer a unique experience as each has a cool gimmick that change the gameplay like the flower seeds in the birthday cake stage or the changing signs in the forest.
Mario Party Superstars is a blast to play and honestly a really good entry point for those who have never played a Mario Party game before. It is ideal for parents who want to introduce Mario Party to their kids and have a party in the house together. Superstars is leaps better than Super Mario Party and because of its low entry stakes it can easily stand besides the amazing Mario Party Jamboree...which I will archive soon.
