Found this old Fox Kids sweepstakes commercial and it is a perfect little time capsule of how cartoons and video games got cross promoted back in the 90s.
This is advertising Taz in Escape from Mars, which Sega released in 1994, built by HeadGames, coming out in September for Genesis and October for Game Gear. Even though it is technically a sequel to the original Taz Mania game, this one actually leans more on classic Looney Tunes shorts than the Taz Mania cartoon itself, with Marvin the Martian kidnapping Taz for his own personal zoo on Mars. You spend the game spinning and chewing your way through six different worlds just trying to get back home to Tasmania.
The sweepstakes itself, called Taz 5 Days Video Craze, let winners choose between a copy of the game for either Genesis or Game Gear, and based on what is shown here, entries went to a PO Box in Los Angeles while official rules were mailed out from a separate address in Beverly Hills, which was a pretty normal setup for these kinds of network sweepstakes at the time. I could not track down every detail of the specific phone number mentioned in the full commercial, so I will leave that part to those of you who actually remember dialing it in.
