At last we've returned to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve! As a Crew, we have vowed to hike every mile of the forty miles of trail at Tallgrass Prairie. This trip brought us to the Gas House Loop Trail. The Gas House Loop is an 8+ mile trail that leads out onto some of the farthest reaches of the preserve. If social distancing is what you are looking for, then this is the trail for you. Miles of rolling hills and grasslands are all that you can see. The preserve is the very heart of our beloved Kansas Flint Hills. As tired as we were at the end of this hike, the views and the experience of being alone out on the prairie are well worth it.
