Synology Active Backup for Business can be used even when your computer or Synology NAS are on different sites. there are several ways to achieve this goal. one way is good and the other very BAD! lets take at both options.
first, Synology Active Backup for Business is NOT designed to facilitate offsite backups. its intended goal is for local backup on the local network. in this video we are actually doing something that is a bit of a manipulation. i strongly recommend that you do not adopt the option of port forwarding!
Synology Active Backup for Business can be used to backup computers, virtual machines, file servers and much more. as long as you are using it the way its supposed to be used, you can be rest assured that you files are safely backed up and ready to be restored in case of emergency. when you manipulate Synology Active Backup for Business like in this demonstration, no one including Synology can guarantee the functionality and integrity of your backups. use at your own risk.
Synology Active Backup for Business is a lot more than just a PC backup tool. its an all in one, pc backup, virtual machine backup, server backup and so much more. we as Synology NAS users are use to getting a lot of value from our Synology boxes, but Synology Active Backup for Business takes getting added value to a whole new level.
